Dr. Robert Barr

Dr. Robert Barr, a 1975 graduate from Colorado State University started Mesa Veterinary Clinic in 1978.  He is currently retired but his values and his impact on the clinic is everlasting.  He is enjoying ranching and spending time with family.  ​

Dr. Joseph Barker

Dr. Barker is a 1994 graduate of Colorado State University Veterinary Medicine program. He has been with Mesa Veterinary Clinic since graduation and treats all species, which makes him a well- rounded and much respected veterinarian. His devotion to the clinic, clients, and his family is admirable. He shares his love of veterinary medicine with the youth of our community through the 4-H and FFA programs. His interests include farming and raising quality market lambs and market goats that are shown at livestock shows across the country. He loves spending time with his wife Erin and children Jacob and Jessica, cheering on the Colorado Rapids and Chelsea Football clubs.

Dr. Tiffany Barr

​Dr. Tiffany spent many hours at the clinic as a youth shadowing her father, Dr. Bob Barr. Dr. Tiffany is a 2008 graduate of Colorado State University and has been at Mesa Vet Clinic since.   She is certified in acupuncture, as a medical option, with several patients currently under treatment.  She is an owner to this practice and is devoted to patient care and the success of the Clinic.  Tiffany enjoys spending time with family and friends, as well as camping.

Dr. Matt Braunschmidt

​Dr. Matt grew up on a small acreage just outside of Lennox, South Dakota. He was active in 4-H and FFA with the family’s horses and a few cows. He obtained a degree in Animal Science from South Dakota State University in 1998 and his doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Iowa State University in 2003. Dr. Matt enjoys the challenges a mixed animal veterinarian faces. However, he has taken an interest in small animal surgery and medicine. He enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, along with their dogs and cats. He also volunteers time with Pueblo County 4-H Foundation and recently became a district representative for Colorado Veterinary Medical Association. He joined Mesa Vet Clinic in June of 2003 and is a valuable asset to the clinic.

Dr. James Fitzgerald

​Dr. Fitzgerald is a native to Pueblo and graduated from veterinary school at Colorado State University in 2012. He became interested in veterinary medicine growing up around dogs and horses. He started volunteering at Mesa Veterinary Clinic in 2005 and was delighted to accept a position at the Clinic following graduation in 2012. He enjoys spending time with his family and playing guitar.​

Dr. Rachel D'Andrea

Dr. Rachel D'Andrea joined us from Iowa State. She is a 2022 graduate. Dr. Rachel is originally from Connecticut but has some family here in Pueblo. She has a passion for ruminants and camelids. We are happy to have her on staff!

Patty

​Patty is our Practice Manager. She worked with Mesa for 15 years, then moved to New Mexico. We were thrilled to welcome her back in 2022! Outside of work, Patty enjoys crafting, reading, and cooking. She’s also a big fan of penguins and is known for her love of coordination—everything she owns has to match! Patty shares her home with 2 beloved dogs, Lucian and Floki

Kari, RVT

​Kari has been part of the Mesa team since 2011, serving as our Inventory Manager and s skilled Registered Veterinary Technician. She earned her Bachelors of Science Degree from Augustana College and completed the RVT program through Bel-Rea. Outside of work, Kari stays busy with her 4 horses, 3 dogs, 4 fish and 1 cat. She enjoys showing horses and is an avid hockey fan.​

Cecily, RVT

​​Cecily is our Lead Registered Veterinary Technician and joined our team in 2016 with years of behavioral experience from working in a kennel setting.  She loves diagnostics and helping the veterinarians gather the necessary information for diagnosis.  She enjoys spending time with her family. She is originally from Utah and has made Pueblo her home with her many critters!

Stephanie, CCS

​Stephanie joined the Mesa team in 2015, bringing with her years of valuable experience in veterinary client care. As one of our Lead Client Care Specialists, she plays a key role in supporting both our clients and team. At home, Steph shares her life with 2 dogs, 3 cats, and a few birds. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, spending her time with family, scrapbooking, reading and more.

Shaniqua, CCS

Shaniqua originally joined the Mesa team in 2006 and returned in 2014 after several years away. She now serves as one of our Lead Client Care Specialists and oversees all prescription pet food needs. Shaq is a graduate of Pima Medical Institute, where she earned her Veterinary Assistant certificate. At home, she shares her life with 4 dogs, 2 cats, a jumping spider, and a flock of chickens. In her free time, she enjoys spending time in nature with her family.​

Cheyenne, RVT

​Cheyenne is one of our Triage Lead Registered Veterinary Technicians. She joined the Mesa team in 2022 after graduating from the Colorado Association of Veterinary Technicians (CAVT) Veterinary Technician Program. At home she cares for two dogs, Luna and Juniper, two horses and a variety of lizards.

Rebecca, RVT

​Rebecca is a Triage Lead Registered Veterinary Technician and is veterinary assistant graduate from the Colorado Academy of Veterinary Technology (CAVT).  She joined our team in February 2016 when she was a new graduate.  We have watched her grow into a strong technician.  She has multiple pets including horses, pigs and dogs.  She enjoys equine and outdoor activities.  She is always willing to help and make others smile!

Brenna, RVT

​Brenna is our Large Animal Lead Registered Veterinary Technician and is a veterinary assistant graduate from Pima Medical Institute and joined our team following her externship in 2017.  She is dedicated to challenging the team to a new level. She has four legged kiddos that keep her busy and cause their fair amount of trouble.​

Rachel, RVT

​Rachel is our Small Animal Care Lead Registered Veterinary Technician. She is a Pueblo native and is a graduate from the National Veterinary Technician Association (NAVTA) VetMed Team Veterinary Assistant Online Program. Her passion is patient care and comfort. She always has a caring smile to offer.

Paige, RVT

​Paige is our Lab Area Lead Registered Veterinary Technician and is a 2017 graduate from Pima Medical Institute-Colorado Springs Veterinary Assistant Program.  She joined our team following her externship experience in 2017.  She is a Pueblo native with a passion for pitbull rescues.  She has a big heart and a caring nature.  

Adrianne, RVT

​Adrianne is our Surgery and Dental Lead Registered Veterinary Technician and joined our Mesa team in 2017.  She brought strong organizational, technical and training skills from her previous practice experience. She is originally from Iowa.  She has fuzzy canine and feline kiddos that she has rescued.​

Lisa, CCS

​Lisa is a Client Care Specialist. She came to us with over 20 years veterinary experience. She manages a feral cat colony and she loves her kitties! Lisa is a Pueblo native.

Kari, CCS

​Kari is a Registered Veterinary Technician and started working as a veterinary technician at Mesa Vet in 1990. She loves the baby critters and is the first to take any strays home with her! When not at work, she enjoys spending time with her family and her assortment of animals.

Sandy, CCS

​Sandy has been in veterinary medicine since 1982, and holds an Associate degree in Animal Health Science. She came from South Dakota and has lived in Pueblo since 1975. She graduated from Centennial High School in 1980 and then graduated from National College in 1982. She has Boston Terriers, a Chihuahua, several cats, a parrot, and a horse. She likes making a difference in animal's lives. She enjoys horseback riding in the mountains, crafts, sewing, reading and spending time with her family, 2 and 4 legged. She has worked at Mesa Vet since 2000.​

Nicki, RVT

​Nicki is a Pueblo native. She graduated from Bel-Rea in 2002 and has been working at Mesa Vet ever since. She is a Registered Veterinary Technician with extensive experience. She enjoys times with her family and pets.  She has a passion for laboratory diagnostics and patient care.

Savanah, RVT

​Savanah is one of our Veterinary Assistants and is a 2017 graduate from Pima Medical Institute Veterinary Assistant Program and is a Pueblo native. She completed her externship with us and was offered a position. She was determined to be a great fit by the team. We enjoy her personality and sense of humor. She always keeps us laughing!

​Maddie is a veterinary assistant and came to us as a volunteer in 2021. She joined our staff officially in early 2022. Maddie is now attending CSUP as a pre-vet student.​

​Rachael is a Veterinary Assistant. She joined our team in 2022 after returning home from Nevada, where she worked in a veterinary specialty clinic. She is a Pueblo native. She has many four-legged friends at her house.

​Kaylan is a veterinary assistants. She resides on a ranch and has experience with multiple species. She is passionate about patient care and enjoys spending time with her family.​​

Catie, VA

Catie is a Veterinary Assistant that is currently attending CSU-Fort Collins Veterinary School. She has worked with animals from a young age with her mother, who is also a veterinarian. She loves sheep and even traveled to Whales to work with them. We can't wait to see her as Dr. Catie!

Kersten, VA

​Kersten is one of our Veterinary Assistants and joined us in 2019 and brings a passion for pets, photography and learning. She works at the front desk and the exam room area. She also manages all of our Home Again Microchip enrollments,  She offers and caring and compassionate attitude for our clients and patients.
